Joost, the on-demand TV and media service, has just launched its first iPhone application, bringing thousands of quality full length movies and other media content to the iPhone. The Joost iPhone application allows users to search, browse content, and see the most popular media. iPhone users already have the YouTube application installed by default, but this will nevertheless be a nice addition given all the great content that is made available from partners including CBS, Viacom, MTV, NHL, Sony, and many more. Joost still requires users to install a local application on their PC for full feature on-demand support. Joost has failed to pickup in traffic, and has had only about 100,000 visitors in Oct 07 compared with a small increase to only 400,000 per month now a full year later in Oct 08 according to Compete. Joost was founded in Oct 06 by Kazaa founders Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstorm and has received $45 million in total funding to date.
