amd AMD Sells Handheld Business for $65M to Qualcomm Qualcomm is set to acquire AMD’s handheld business for $65 million. Qualcomm will mainly acquire newer multimedia assets that are believed to help boost multimedia capabilities in Qualcomm handsets. Part of the deal, Qualcomm will also acquire intellectual rights from AMD. The AMD stock is down more than 12% at $2 per share following the news.
