Apple has just introduced upgrades to its MacBooks. The 15=inch MacBook Pro now includes a standard 2.66GHz processor, up from the previous 2.53GHz configuration. For an additional $300, you can upgrade the processor to a 2.93GHz chip. You can also add a 256GH SSD to the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBooks for an additional $900 or so. The lower end MacBook Pro 2.4GHz remains unchanged.

Apple has also upgraded its Mac Mini computers. The new features include a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB DDR3 1066 MHz RAM, Airport Extreme, 320 hard drive, FireWire 800, SuperDrive, and 5 USB 2.0 ports. The new Mac Mini also offers up to 5 times better graphics performance with the same NVIDIA GeForce 9400M chip. The Mac Mini is also very energy friendly (uses about 10 times less energy than a typical desktop) and also conforms to the yet to be adopted Energy Star 5.0 standards.

The Mac Mini is available in two different models, a $599 model and a $799 model. The only advantage with the $799 model is mainly the 320GB hard drive over a $120GB hard drive that comes with the $599 model. You can compare the specs at the Apple Mac Mini website.

Apple has also introduced new iMacs and lowered the prices including on the 24-inch iMac by about $100.

Apple has also introduced a slimmed down version of its desktop keyboard that doesn’t have a num-pad. The new keyboard is bundled by default, but purchasers can swap it with one that does have a num-pad at no additional charge.

There is also speculation Apple might introduce the new iPhone OS 3.0 at the upcoming March 24, 2009 Apple event.
