Apple has called a special press event scheduled for 10am PST Tuesday March 17, 2009 to unveil parts of the new iPhone OS 3.0. Engadget will be blogging live from the event next week.

In related iPhone news, SAP and Sybase have teamed up to bring SAP’s software to the iPhone, among other mobile platforms, including the BlackBerry and Windows Mobile handsets. Support for other platforms will also be available but it is unlikely it will be any time too soon.
