Google Twitter Replay: A chronological archive of every tweet

Google Corp. has unveiled a new search tool, dubbed Google Twitter Replay, that aims to make tweets from Twitter more useful in that people could search for past events and find all related tweets and conversations from that specific time period on the social networking website.

We firstly reported that Google initially signed an indexing deal with Twitter worth $15-million to allow the company to index tweets in real-time. At that time, Twitter also inked a deal with Microsoft Corp worth $10-million.

Twitter already offers a search feature that allows people to find “trending” topics and recent tweets, however, it isn’t very comprehensive and the company wouldn’t have the capacity (at least in the foreseeable future) to develop robust search technology similar to Google, for that reason, the search deals made sense for Twitter.

Google Twitter Replay works by querying keywords on a selected topic along with a specified time frame. Google describes Replay; “you can zoom to any point in time and “replay” what people were saying publicly about a topic on Twitter.”

Google says all tweets dating back from Twitter’s 2006 launch will soon be available for searching.

You can try Google Twitter Replay today by simply clicking on “Show options” on a Google search results page and then by clicking on “Updates”.

Twitter is currently valued at $1-billion as at September 26, 2009.

Colon cancer is one of the leading causes of death. Irrespective of family history, everyone is exposed to the risk. About 90% of colon cancer cases begin from non-cancerous tumors, polyps, which could form in the large bowel. Screening with a colonoscopy will painlessly remove any polyps hence almost entirely reducing your risk of developing the horrible disease. The good news is that about 90% of colon cancer cases are preventable through a simple (yes, simple) colonoscopy.
