Google has announced a new partnership with the German carmaker, Audi, which will see a very major improvement to the GPS navigation system in the latest Audi A8 luxury sedan.
Many people complain that stock GPS navigation systems are not very intuitive or advanced compared to newer standalone models. For example, the BMW M5, as amazing as it is, you can’t even turn off the directional voice prompts.

The search giant unveiled its free mobile GPS turn-by-turn directions app, sending stocks of traditional GPS-makers plummeting
Well, we knew Google would do this sooner or later. The company has announced it would begin to offer free GPS turn-by-turn navigation with its new and free Google Maps Navigation application.
The application will be initially available only in the United States and with support for devices running Android 2.0 or higher (see the second embedded video below to learn more about Android 2.0).
Google Maps Navigation supports voice search, satellite view, 3D view, traffic information, automatic rerouting, among many other features you would find on premium GPS devices.

There are more next-generation iPhone feature rumors swirling now just one day ahead of WWDC, where it is expected Apple will unveil the new iPhone.
It is rumored the new iPhone will be slimmer, more sleek, and include a larger screen (16:9) that would take up most of the space of the phone. The only problem with this rumor is that the thousands of iPhone apps that are not based on that resolution would need to be altered.
We can now also confirm that the new iPhone 3 will have complete support for geo-location services, including support within Safari. This means various apps such as Google’s location sharing app Google Latitude will now work on the iPhone. A new enhanced Google Maps iPhone version will also be released.

Google has just released an update for Google Maps for Windows Mobile devices. The update has fixed various issues, including Google Latitude that now actually works on winmo devices. You can download the new version 3.0.1 by visiting http://m.google.com/maps in your mobile web browser.

The Google Maps car that takes video and photos for Google Live view, has apparently struck and killed a dear in Rush, NY. You were able to previously watch the entire unfortunate event happen while using Google Maps Live view, but Google has now removed the images.
