Pandora has just released their radio app for the BlackBerry. Straight from your BlackBerry, you can create a new channel, start a quickmix, and play music. There is also a status bar at the bottom of the application with the thumbs up and down button. The app is free but is ad supported and seems to work on Verizon and AT&T only right now. Yahoo has just announced support for an additional 20 outside of Yahoo networks for people to get updates about their friends. The supported third party sites include Digg, YouTube, Facebook, Picasa, SU, SlideShare, Pandora, SmugMug, Webshots, Blogger, Bloglines, Zooomr, Yelp, Twitter, among others. Yahoo has made it clear the company wants to become more open and social as part of its Open Strategy.

The popular music service, Pandora, has updated its iPhone app to version 2.0. The new free update (can be found at the App store) is significantly improved, more intuitive and easier to use. One of the new features is CoverFlow, which allows you to easily browse through your music by covers, and now including with back covers. Another useful feature in Pandora 2.0 is that you can listen to a 30 second preview of songs in your Pandora bookmarks. Pandora 2.0 brings improved UI differences making the application feel more like an iPod, making it easier for you to play, share your music and get quick info about your tracks.

The Chicago based 3 year old popular music streaming service, Pandora.com, has just announced, via Twitter, that they have just reached 20 million registered users (8 million of these accounts have been active in the last 90 days). The company has gotten just over $20 million in VC funding in total. According to Compete, Pandora visits are up 51% year over year, with Pandora getting about 500,000 more visitors every month compared to Last.fm. Pandora still has licensing problems and is not able to provide its service to people outside of the US.
