T-Mobile has released a visual voicemail app for its Google Android powered handsets. The app is free, all you have to do to get it is call T-Mobile customer service to activate the app, and you can then download the app from the Android Market. The app lets you see your voicemails in your inbox, including the time the message was left and contact information from the person who left the message. Apple was the first company to release a visual voicemail solution.

Google VP of Engineering Andy Rubin gave some insight as to where Android is heading to during yesterday’s joint T-Mobile Google media event in San Francisco.
He said “Social is a big push for now,” saying how Android would become a much more social platform. He said soon Android would be able to display photos of incoming callers, and even the latest Twitter and Facebook update from that contact (why you would want to see the latest Facebook update on the incoming call screen?).

T-Mobile today confirmed the company will offer its second Google Android powered handset, the myTouch 3G (the HTC Magic). T-Mobile will begin to take pre-orders starting July 8, the device should be available in stores by early August. The company did not offer a firm availability date. The myTouch 3G will be priced at $199 with a new two-year term.
The device offers a 3.2MP camera, 3.2-inch display, WiFi, 4GB preinstalled memory, out of the box support for Google apps such as Google Maps, Picassa, YouTube, among other apps from Google.
The myTouch 3G will also come pre-installed with a new app from Geodelic that helps you find information

There are more next-generation iPhone feature rumors swirling now just one day ahead of WWDC, where it is expected Apple will unveil the new iPhone.
It is rumored the new iPhone will be slimmer, more sleek, and include a larger screen (16:9) that would take up most of the space of the phone. The only problem with this rumor is that the thousands of iPhone apps that are not based on that resolution would need to be altered.
We can now also confirm that the new iPhone 3 will have complete support for geo-location services, including support within Safari. This means various apps such as Google’s location sharing app Google Latitude will now work on the iPhone. A new enhanced Google Maps iPhone version will also be released.

The top Minnesota-based electronics retailer BestBuy today sent a memo out to various stores in the U.S. warning them of depleting iPhone 3G supplies.
BestBuy warned some stores could completely deplete their stock entirely.
The new BestBuy warning indicates retailers are pushing to sell off the current iPhone models to make way for the much-anticipated next-generation iPhone.
BestBuy is not the first retailer to issue a warning on depleting iPhone inventory.
Australian-based Vodafone iPhone distributor Brightpoint previously said, “We have just been notified that the [16GB iPhone 3G is] End Of Life,” referring to depleting inventory as well.

Fido GSM telecom in Canada, owned by Rogers who has a complete monopoly over the GSM networks in Canada, has announced today it will not be reordering any new stock of the 16GB 3G iPhone and will simply let the existing stock completely deplete as of the beginning of April.
The move indicates the company could be readying the launch of a new iPhone model by the summer as is widely rumored. 17 phone makers and carriers today announced their agreement with the GSMA Organization to standardize cell phone charging connectors by 2012. The charging standard will be the micro-USB connector. Companies include AT&T, LG, Mobilkom Austria, Nokia, Orange, Qualcomm, Sony Ericsson, Telefonica, Telecom Italia, Motorola, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Telenor, among other companies. RIM did not sign on with the deal, and currently uses the mini-USB standard. However, it wouldn’t be surprising for the company to use micro-USB by then.

The guys over at TmoNews have gotten shots of a possible new HTC device, the ‘Sapphire’. It is believed this device could in fact turn out to be the new Google GPhone G2. It also features a slide-out QWERTY. No other information is known about the phone.

RIM’s next-generation BlackBerry Curve 8900 has now launched on the T-Mobile network in the U.S. There is nothing different with this version, it features a 3.2MP camera, a 3.5mm standard stereo jack, a 512MHz processor, WiFi, GPS, and your regular BlackBerry features.

HTC, the maker of Google’s GPhone, has told Engadget that the “Cupcake” OS update to the Google T-Mobile G1 phone is coming sometime soon. HTC failed to provide more details. Realistically, it should be within the next couple of months.
