Google Maps with Biking directions now available on BlackBerry

Today the search giant, Google, updated its Google Maps application for BlackBerry devices to version 4.2 that includes support for Google’s latest mapping project, Google Maps Bike, which allows users to get directions optimized for biking.

The new program offers users the ability to plan routes based on bike trails (indicated by dark green), dedicated bike lanes (indicated by light green), or by regular roads that are good for biking (indicated on the map by a dotted green line).

Google firstly made the biking feature available for Google Android-based mobile devices, and today made the application available for BlackBerry devices as well.

The app also makes search and share more seamless on BlackBerry, allowing users to easily forward directions and search results to friends via SMS or email.

Additionally, the program is able to intelligently choose optimized bike routes by choosing better and less steep roads, which will be welcoming for people who live in cities like San Francisco.

Google Maps Bike currently only supports U.S. cities, about 300 cities in total, with support for additional cities and updated routes for existing cities being planned.

The web version of Google Maps Bike also allows users to create their own customized routes by easily dragging highlighted routes.

You can download the new updated version of Google Maps 4.2 for BlackBerry by visiting on your BlackBerry browser.

Colon cancer is one of the leading causes of death. Irrespective of family history, everyone is exposed to the risk. About 90% of colon cancer cases begin from non-cancerous tumors, polyps, which could form in the large bowel. Screening with a colonoscopy will painlessly remove any polyps hence almost entirely reducing your risk of developing the horrible disease. The good news is that about 90% of colon cancer cases are preventable through a simple (yes, simple) colonoscopy.
