YouTube turns 5, serves 2bn daily pageviews

The popular online video sharing service, YouTube, owned by Google, today turned five years old.

The company says YouTube now has up to 2-billion daily pageviews (with 45-million homepage impressions), and more than 24-hours of video time being uploaded to the site by users every single minute.

YouTube now also supports high-definition video formats, and even 3D videos.

The company says revenue from advertising partners tripled in 2009, but despite this, YouTube is still not profitable, and Google has consistently declined any additional insight due to competitive reasons.

Additionally, Google does not break down revenues in financial statements from YouTube, instead grouping them, for competitive reasons.

YouTube currently gets about 70-percent of its total traffic from the United States and is still the third most visited website in the world.

YouTube was the first real Internet service to offer consumers a seamless way to share videos online, including the ability to easily embed video content on any website.

Colon cancer is one of the leading causes of death. Irrespective of family history, everyone is exposed to the risk. About 90% of colon cancer cases begin from non-cancerous tumors, polyps, which could form in the large bowel. Screening with a colonoscopy will painlessly remove any polyps hence almost entirely reducing your risk of developing the horrible disease. The good news is that about 90% of colon cancer cases are preventable through a simple (yes, simple) colonoscopy.
